The Alpha Loop from Alpha Antenna is a handheld and jaw or tripod mountable antenna that can also be set vertically on a table using the flat side of the Alpha Match. This coaxial magnetic loop antenna is just over 3 feet wide, offers continuous coverage for 10-40 Meters, and handles 30W PEP SSB (approximately 15 watts CW). *60 & 80 meters is OPTIONAL with the AlphaLoop Booster Cable for 40 to 80 meters.
"I just had a reasonably long QSO on 80 m from Adelaide South Australia to Caragabal NSW which is a distance of almost 1000 KM. The alpha loop was sitting on my desk next to me inside the house (under the iron roof). My signal was 5/9. Now I really believe it works - Joe VK5FBHE".

This loop is a favorite of permanent base operators who have limited space or when SOTA, EmComm, RADAR, and other rapid response operators need to quickly deploy & then take down an antenna that has many various mounting options, including: a) hand-held, b) hang it from the included Carabineer, c) place it on an optional Jaw Mount, or d) mount it on any of the optional tripods from Alpha Antenna. For even greater carrying convenience, hang it from your pack with the included Carabineer or add the optional tactical black Duffle "go bag" to store your AlphaLoop in.
At 2.8 pounds it includes:
-6:1 Reduction Drive
-Self-supporting collapsible aluminum handle with durable Foam Comfort Grip
-Carabineer to hang the antenna from trees or other supports
-Technologically advanced Shielded Inner Loop shields RF from getting to the antenna
-Rigid inner & outer loop made from the Highest Quality Times LMR-400
-Alpha Match enclosure is a High-voltage box
-Silver plated SO-239s are milled and formed 100% in the U.S.A.
-Silver Plated PL-259s are affixed to the LMR400 using marine sealant that are crimped & soldered in place, which is the same technique used to build MIL-SPEC connections for the U.S. Military

ABOUT THE VARIABLE AIR CAPACITOR
No RF conduction currents flow through the bearings of the rotor on the variable air capacitor that is constructed using dual gang split stators. The 6:1 reduction drive built into the shaft is smooth and accurately/easily tunes the loop. The shaft from the capacitor that exits the high-voltage box is covered with a Nylon shaft.
Assembles and disassembles from the optional field bag in 60 seconds. As this antenna is a loop, there are no taps on coils and no counterpoise wires needed. Has a built in tuner that allows you to easily match the antenna for transmit and receive from 7 to 29.7 MHz (40 Meters through 10 Meters). High noise rejection is also one of the favorite features of this antenna for many operators in RFI prone environments.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
This is a High-Q directional HF antenna with low noise capabilities. This is the only Commercially available loop that uses an inner Shielded Faraday Loop, which lowers RFI by shielding the loop your coax connect to. Also included is the LMR-400 based outer element of the AlphaLoop, which offers you a light 10-40 Meter 30 watt PEP SSB antenna in a small package that deploys in 2 minutes.
The AlphaLoop antenna appears as a large resonant circuit to your transceiver. The outer loop is a large single turn inductor of the circuit and is over 9 feet in circumference. Due to the large size of the inductor, radiation of your signal very easily takes place.
OPTIONAL 40-80 Meter Booster Cable
The AlphaLoop Booster Cable enables your 10-40 meter Magnetic Loop Antenna to transmit and receive on 60 & 80 meters using 20 watts PEP SSB, while increasing the efficiency for 40 meters over the single turn loop.
The Booster Cable consists of a specially tuned section of Times Microwave LMR-400 coax plus a double-female SO239/UHF connector that connects to either PL259 on your 10-40 meter outer loop, resulting in a 120% increase in a double loop configuration. The Booster Cable is easily installed or uninstalled with Velcro straps.
