With an SWR of less than 2.5:1 from 10-80 meters and Marin HF, this Alpha OCF (off center fed) ProMaster permanent & transportable antenna is built for the harshest military and civilian environments, and breaks down in 5 minutes to 3 1/2 feet for redeployment in less than 5 minutes on the optional tripod or your own mounting pipe. This ProMaster system and optional tripod & coax all fit in the optional Padded Bag for the most rugged of Field Day or EMCOMM deployments. Perfect for ALE (automatic link establishment), Digital Spread Spectrum modes, and all HF modes including, but not limited to, CW, SSB (USB/LSB), AM, etc. You may also use an external antenna tuner if your antenna is installed over a poor ground or not placed in a clear area.

The 43 foot system is composed of an 18 foot vertical and a 25 foot horizontal element, which are stealthy and provide simultaneous Vertical DX & Horizontal NVIS take-off angles for your radiated signal. Simply install the antenna approximately 5 to 7 feet off the ground on any conductive or non-conductive mast and connect your coax to the SO239 on the Alpha Match. Then the Vertical element will enhance high band DX while the NVIS Element enhances low band NVIS. The included RF Ground wire and stake then complete the circuit at the antenna (Note - Without the ground there would be no return path for current, which means that there would be an open circuit and the system would not work as efficiently). As for the tripod, we tested it for 2 years outdoors in the Midwest. After that time, it showed very few rust points and the black had faded, but nothing was structurally damaged. It’d definitely need to be guyed if it got too windy, and although the ProMaster antenna can be deployed in salt water environments, we do not recommend the tripod be used 24/7/365 around salt water. For most Base installations or salt water environments, we recommend a galvanized top rail from a chain link fence or stainless steel mast be used as the mounting location, or that the 2 foot long aluminum mount included with the ProMaster be bolted to a wooden fence post, at between 5 to 7 feet off the ground. Alternatively, the ProMaster can be roof mounted, but not on our tripod, if you have a mast between 1 1/4 to 1 5/8 inches O.D. When mounting on a roof, the 25’ NVIS Element can be tied off at an angle to a PVC vent pipe using an extra length of outdoor rated rope to the included green insulator after the aluminum stake is pulled from it. Then the ground wire can be tied off (with additional wire if needed) to your aluminum gutter or flashing at the edge of the shingles.

Optional Tripod:

The optionally available heavy duty steel tripod is designed for at least 2 years of continuous outdoor use, in non-salt water environments. Our two year outdoor test of this tripod revealed that it was still structurally sound, and only showed signs of fading with some surface rust (mainly on/around the screws).
