The Alpha EmComm Loop is a 100-watt antenna for VHF, UHF, and HF 15-40 meters, featuring a low-loss BNC connector and feed line, with built-in and detachable tripod legs. This makes it an excellent choice for use at home or as a portable antenna on balconies, desktops, parks (POTA), summits (SOTA), or similar outdoor settings.

Bandwidths

The bandwidths of the VHF UHF HF EmComm Loop before returning is necessary are:
40M – 28KHz
30M – Does not need to be retuned.
20M – 60KHz
17M – Does not need to be retuned.
15M – 180KHz
VHF – Does not need to be retuned.

UHF – Does not need to be retuned.

Testing
Each loop is tested using two-step process
Step 1: Using a calibrated analyzer to confirm resonance on 146MHz, 435MHz, 7.0MHz, 14.175MHz, 18.125MHz and 21.450MHz.

Step 2. Using a HF transceiver with inline watt meter to transmit and confirm power handling at 25W Digital, 50W CW, and 100W SSB.

Steven your generosity and quality gear is unsurpassed. Received the antenna today and even though no one seems about on the air, it’s obviously working to spec as I am able to use the antenna and tune as required
Thank you so much. Quality gear

Hello, First of all I must admit that The Alpha antenna service is great!
for the antenna review, I test it once, and it work and tune verry fine. the stability, is reasonable and i think that the coax that came from thr inner loop, need some hold. I did not test the antenna with full power yet, But compar to othet loop that I see on the market, I thing that a thicker material (like thus coax cable), Will rise the antenna efficiency. ALL THE ANTENNA MATERIALS ARE FROM GOOD QUALITY.

Easy to set up and good quality material. VHF / UHF is flat but HF is really hard to tune. Antenna will be used mostly for ERCOMM. Would recommend this antenna.

Should I adjust my Mic Gain in the radio? Q A asked on December 3, 2023

Due to ALC being reactive, output power may exceed the 100W limit of the Alpha Antenna Magnetic Loop if adjustment to ALC is not properly made. This is why it is critical that you prepare your radio for proper operation by adjusting your Mic Gain. Is a MagLoop directional? Q A asked on December 3, 2023

The Alpha MagLoop antenna has an approximate 8-degree directional null, which tapers then increases in signal strength as you turn the antenna through that null. Should I use an antenna tuner with a Magnetic Loop? Q A asked on December 3, 2023

You should not use an antenna tuner with a Magnetic Loop antenna, because it has a built-in manual tuner. READ MORE: https://alphaantenna.com/community/hints-and-kinks/hf-magnetic-alpha-loop-magloop-antenna/can-i-use-a-tuner-with-on-a-magnetic-loop-antenna-magloop/
