This is a really nice way to make your field antenna seem more useful. Performance is good, but that shouldn’t be a surprise, since the original kit it comes from is so effective a system
I had to buy this, because my ’97 Subaru Imprez Outback had been stolen, and the thief had disposed of my antenna whip… I was lucky that the coil, coax, and autotuner were still in the car! I’ve made several mobile contacts with that antenna, as well as it’s FMJ counterpart (I have the black plastic older one on my car…) that I use for portable operations. I really like this antenna! It wasn’t prohibitively expensive like most of the screwdriver antennas are, and runs reasonably well! I’ve been able to go off-road with this antenna, and make decent contacts during the end of the last solar cycle! Using only 100w, Hilo, HI heard me on 40M, giving me an RST of 5-3… all in all, a good antenna!
